I met my wife while serving as a missionary aboard an OM Ship. Her first words to me were: "I don't know who you are, but I want you to never talk to me again.".

When we read the Bible, and see the miracles performed by Jesus, and his disciples, it is very tempting to want to experience miracles for ourselves. Since we rarely get too experience miracles on the scale of raising the dead, or feeding of thousands of people, we try and make miracles out of everyday events.

How can anyone afford to buy a house? Even before we got married, my wife and I knew that God has called both of us, as individuals, but also as a couple, to His service. Knowing this, and knowing that debt is one of the main reasons why people who want to be in ministry often aren't, we had no idea how we would ever be able to buy our own house.

From 2002 to 2005 I lived in Hwange, in Northern Zimbabwe. I was working as a youth worker with Scripture Union at the time. During this time, Zimbabwe is in the throes of a severe economic collapse, which meant that the shops were empty, people went hungry, and filling stations ran dry.
